#1 is absurd no way the habs would ever make that trade. Top pairing dman to move up two spots for a player who is a notch below most years 1st overall. I think the habs will be able to grab a decent player at #3

Decent? Sure, absolutely. Not a superstar though. Yakupov is a superstar, and is in a way different class than the players the Habs could take at #3. Oilers have no reason to gift him to a different team.

No thanks. We'll keep Gardiner, the 5th overall pick and next year's first round pick (as it very well could be another lottery pick). One (unproven) player isn't going to turn this franchise around.

Then again, it's not my decision...

Yakupov hasnt played a minute in the nhl yet so he is not a sure thing hes also not big and has had injury and concussion problems. Way to much to pay to move up 2 spots. Its not like the habs are picking 15th.

1.7 point-per game average over the last two seasons in the OHL. No one his age came close to that over the last few seasons. Skating speed at 18 is already faster than 90% of the entire NHL.

Like I said, Oilers aren't going to gift this guy to anyone, nor should they.

Yeah, I heard they're both going to Montreal. Just like every other big name player does.

the same way that at one point ovechkin, crosby, kane, stamkos, tavares, hall and RNH were all unproven players. chances are he'll be pretty damn good

Agreed about not giving the pick away but they arent gonna get a player like subban just to move up two spots. Montreal is sooo thin on defence and he is young and they will need to rebuild too. If the oilers find a trade partner its probably gonna be columbus or a team outside of the lottery.

You guys will get a solid player at 3rd pick overall. No need to mortgage your best defensive prospect for a russian of all people........

He will be good but I am more talking about the trade scenario and the price for the habs being way too high. Maybe tinordi or belieau but not subban.way too steep.

I gotta say... I'm really starting to fall in love with the Kings and their fans. The majority of Kings fans on this site are pretty cool, you have a funny blogger, and you are 2-0 against the Nucks so far... You gotta love it.

If you are trading Lousser, it might as well be for the Bulin wall as that is all he is worth (and that might be an overpayment).
